The buttermilk dressing we mixed up for slaw last week was so good, we’re putting it on everything! If you picked up buttermilk for that recipe, make some more dressing for your green salad this week. This is a great, simple creamy dressing. If you’re cutting down on processed foods, try this as a sub for ranch!
Toss fresh lettuce with the finished dressing, then top with anything. This week we just went with crunchy radishes and fresh tomatoes. I think crumbled bacon would have finished things off perfectly!
Buttermilk Dressing
1/2 cup of plain yogurt
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
lots of fresh ground black pepper
2 tablespoons minced chives
1 small garlic clove, grated
Mix the dressing to combine, taste and add more black pepper or salt if necessary. Toss the dressing with washed and dried lettuce. Top with sliced vegetables and other salad ingredients.
