Summer is in full swing and so is the harvest! With the onset of fresh greens, radishes, herbs, and more filling up market stands, CSA shares are the buzz around town! The start of the CSA (and fresh, local produce) really snuck up on us Fingerlakes dwellers this year after a long, cold winter and almost unbearable spring. Not too worry! Our CSA is right on schedule and so far shares have been packed full of fresh, certified organic veggies.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a system of farming that brings farmers and community members together as shared stakeholders in the success of sustainable, local food production. Community members purchase a farm share for the growing season. Our CSA makes weekly deliveries to over 50 locations across Central New York through mid-November. Choose from 2 different size CSA shares and enjoy our growing Member Benefits, including a Recipe Meal Plan each week and 20% off at our Farmers’ Market booths.
Many of our members join in the fall or spring, but we take rolling sign-ups throughout the year and even during the CSA season. After our CSA starts shares are pro-rated right through our sign-up software. Sign-up online and you’ll pay for just the weeks you receive your share. Traveling this summer? We have the ever-popular “Academic Share”. Named for faculty and students, this share is perfect for anyone who won’t be in the area during the summer months. The Academic Share runs late-August to mid-November. Traveling at a different time? If you’ll be away for 3 weeks or more just give us a call and we’ll pro-rate a share for you.
