This Weeks Forecast:

The colder air is rolling in, we had a pretty deep frost last weekend, and a few very minor ones since then. We lost the rest of the peppers and eggplants but at this point that’s the only negative effect of the frost. On the positive side, when it starts to get cooler out and the frost hits the ground, many of the vegetables get sweeter in flavor. One of plants natural defences against freezing is to produce sugars thus lowering the freezing point. You may notice Kales, Cabbages, and Brussels Sprouts tasting their best yet!

Speaking of Brussels Sprouts, we are going to leave them out of the shares this week and we plan on putting them in the last two weeks of the share.

Likely:
Butternut Squash
Sweet Dumpling or Acorn Squash
Kale, Dino or Curly
Cabbage
Carrots
Beets
Celery

Also Possible:
Lettuce
Parsley
Daikon Radish
Dill
