So, rule number 1: consider your greens.
We live in an age where we are conditioned to drown our iceberg lettuce salads in excessive dressing, in order to make something tasteless just a little more palatable…but…when your ingredients are good, the dressing should amplify and complement, not take the spotlight.
Rule number 2: use your dressing as the accent, not the main course.
It’s been years since we’ve bought salad dressing from the grocery store. Homemade dressing is far more delicious than any store-bought bottle of Thousand Islands.
Rule number 3: don’t be intimidated by the idea of making your own dressing. Once you have the ingredients, it’s actually a lot easier than taking a trip all the way to the store to pick something out–and much healthier too.
