Farm Share OptionsEarly this winter I made a serendipitous phone call.  Our farm had been looking for a location to form a CSA in the Auburn or Skaneateles area since fall and nothing had materialized.  I was considering giving up when someone suggested I check with the Montessori School.

The first few times I called I left messages for the Director Gilda Brower.   No one returned my calls, I thought perhaps they weren’t interested, but I gave it one last shot.  This time someone answered – it turned out they were not only interested, but the school had just moved to a new location in the country and they were trying to figure out how to incorporate sustainable agriculture into their school curriculum.

From then on, working with the Montessori School of the Finger Lakes has been nothing short of a dream come true!  Can we maybe plant a U-pick garden for out CSA members? Please Do! Can we teach a few cooking classes in your kitchen? Absolutely!  Can we set up a children’s garden?  Yes, yes, yes!  I’ve never worked with a group so motivated to help, it’s really great!

We are planning a “free choice” style CSA pick-up, with U-pick options for our members. We hope to get at least 50 members for this first year at the school, and we’re so excited to be building community with great food in the Auburn and Skaneateles area.  Please, help us spread the word — tell all your friends, this is going to be great!
