The Week’s Forecast
Finally things are starting to dry out in the fields. If you know any farmers, it won’t be long until you hear us complaining that it’s too dry 🙂
We found a spattering of ripe tomatoes at the end of this week in our high tunnels. They should be steady enough to start putting them in the boxes the week after next. Our fall crops look really nice at right now – the picture above is of our Brussels Sprouts field – we’ll start harvesting those after the first frost. Ok, here’s the forecast:
Likely:
Carrots
Beets
Eggplant
Kale
Escarole or Radicchio
Summer Squash and Zucchini
Possible:
Swiss Chard
Peppers
Onions
Lettuce
Kohlrabi
Cabbage
Bad News 🙁
First planting of Cucumbers is pretty much shot.
Good News 🙂
Tomatoes are almost here!
Peppers are starting out slow – but soon will be bumping!
Fall Crops look amazing!
