This week really started to feel like Autumn! The weather was perfect for working in – not too hot, not too cold and much of our late summer checklist is now complete.
It looks like we may be able to get our amazing long red Italian Sweet Peppers into the boxes this week along with the green bells. Of course there will be more Heirloom tomatoes; we think there’s another 4 or 5 weeks of tomato season left. We have a pretty good looking crop so we’ll probably put 2 or 3 nice sized fruits in every box. There’s Bok Choy and Arugula in the fields too. Part of the Bok Choy planting is not doing so well and we may only get it in some of the boxes, but the Arugula looks nice. There’s of course still plenty of Lettuce, and the Summer Squash is still coming on too. Cucumbers are starting to wane a bit, but if the weather warms up the production should pick up again.
